Insurance Coverage

Dr. Soares is a medical doctor, specializing in adult and pediatric ophthalmology. When you visit with us for an eye exam we will bill your health insurance for a medical eye exam.

Some vision care plans are specifically for non-medical eye exams, glasses and/or contacts. We recommend that you work with your insurance company to understand your plan before making an appointment to see us.

We will work closely with your insurance carrier but ultimately the bill is your responsibility.

We have formal contracts with the insurance companies listed below. A contract means that Soares Ocular Surgery, P.C. agrees to accept what each of these individual insurance companies have determined to be a reasonable reimbursement for the services provided to each patient that we examine.

  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • MVP
  • VMC
  • Aetna
  • First Health Network
  • Great West
  • CBA
  • United Healthcare
  • PHCS Network
  • PHS Network
  • Martins Point
  • Tricare

All insurance companies have some services that they do not cover. There are also parts of the bill that are the patient’s responsibility such as co pays and deductibles.

If you have insurance with a company not listed above, we will work with you to file with your insurance company, but ultimately the bill is your responsibility.

Self- Pay:

We do accept patients with no insurance. We offer self-pay patients a cash discount for services provided, including complete eye exams. We expect payment in full prior to any services or exams.
